WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM TO PLAY IN TOURNEY AT JMU
RICHMOND, Ky. -- Eastern Kentucky University's women's golf team closes out its 1998 fall season this weekend with an appearance in the James Madison University Invitational.
EKU hosted its annual Fall Invitational at Arlington Golf Course last weekend.
The Colonels finished fourth (659) after a rough first round of play. Illinois State University won the Invitational, shooting 632 after the two days of play.
"The greens were extremely fast and hard the first day of play," women's head coach Joni Stephens said. "After we got a feel for the greens the second day, our scores really improved."
Leading EKU was Krissie Kirby in fourth place, shooting a 162 for the two-day tournament. Julie Bourne finished 13th (164) to round out the Colonels in the top 15.
EKU's Heather Faesy played as an individual and placed in a tenth place
tie with a score of 163.
